The Author

Gloria loves adventure and flies her own plane.

The book’s writer is first-time author Gloria Smith-Zawaski from Middletown, New York.

 Gloria never lost her love of westerns, the outdoors and horses. She retains a deep sense of adventure and an equally deep love of animals. Today, she is a pilot and an avid trail rider. She likes to end each day with a long ride on her Arabian horse, “True Colors” or TC.

Gloria owns a public relations agency and was a Madison Avenue copywriter before creating this book series with Terrie. She grew up a tom boy in Illinois and later in Connecticut.

She is still Dirk’s and Conroy’s mom, even though her sons are grown up now. Her husband, Alex, has flown a single engine plane around the world. He introduced her to the love of flying. Together, they’ve flown everywhere from Siberia to the Southern Bahamas. Her Springer spaniel, Bailey, has slowed down a bit over the years, but not too very long ago he bore an uncanny resemblance to Cooper. She lives in New York. This is her first book for children, or for anyone for that matter.

Gloria is now busy working with Katie, Jake and Cooper as they travel to Mongolia. Look for The Undercover Kids Mongolian Adventure fall of 2009
